SUE ATTWOOD
I’ve always loved the outdoors and in the last few years have swapped a career as a primary school teacher to fulfil my passion for walking and exploration. As a qualified walk leader, I organise and guide lesbian walking holidays around the UK.
These are informal and friendly opportunities to meet up with like-minded women to explore beautiful areas on established trails and footpaths. The groups of 8-12 stay in a holiday house or B&B. Most women come alone - a few come with a friend or partner - and everyone says they leave with new friends. The walking is organised into two levels and isn’t hardcore, with time for lots of laughs along the way. Popular destinations have included the coasts of Cornwall, Northumberland and Pembroke and the hills of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. New locations are added annually.
There is a closed Facebook group ‘Striding Out’ with info, chat and photos.
